Email Setup Problem

Hello,

I have setup Redmine on a Windows box using InstantRails. The SMTP server is on a different Windows Server box which is not publicly exposed therefore doesn't require authentication.

I have tried all manor of different setting with Redmine and the SMTP server and I unable to get any further than
'An error occurred while sending mail (No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. - connect(2))'

Does anyone have any advice what the above may mean?

It's an smtp administration problem, but:

  • Check that the smtp is listening the good interface and the good port
  • Try to forge email via telnet from the redmine box to the smtp box
  • Check settings in config/environment.rb
    (1-1/1)
