Can I use "Redmine" in an "intranet " environment where in I may not have internet connection?

Hello everyone,

I want to set up a project management utility ("Redmine") in my office intranet. Is it mandatory to have internet connection in office? Can't I use it like "install once and use forever" ? Any kind of help appreciated.

You can use it without external connection whatsoever, the clients using it will need a connection to gravatar.com if the gravatar function is activated and to redmine.org for the help link to work though. You will also need to download the update packages another machine and transfer them there for updates.
