Fine grained user permissions
Added by Charles L over 16 years ago
I'm trying to take away the ability of a user to view a project at all - Ie, no issues, no nothing. Preferably not be able to access even the main page of the project, but so far the way to do it has eluded me.
The current role permissions seems fairly comprehensive (including things like blocking the ability to view Wiki pages at all), so am I just missing something, or is not yet possible?

In the "Settings" tab of that project, be sure that (1) the "public" checkbox is not checked (Information Tab) and (2) that particular user is not a member of the project (Members tab).

Thanks Jim - that did the trick!
Only problem I'm having now, is that if you have a public parent project, with a private sub-project, then that gives you access to view the private issues through the parent sub-project's issue tab, which is a shame. Maybe I should make an issue for this.

yes, you should report that as a bug.
