An error occurred while sending mail (504 Authentication method not enabled )

Hi

I've configured EMail in different ways. Once with the parameters for gmail and once sending mails over my local mail server.
When i try to send a test mail over the administration interface i allways get the following message:

An error occurred while sending mail (504 Authentication method not enabled )
