How can I add project tabs to root view? (like redmine.org)

I like how http://www.redmine.org/ shows the tabs for the http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine on the root view. I cannot find any configuration options to enable this for my projects. My install is likely going to be similar to Redmine meaning there will be one top level project but possibly several sub projects. I'd like for the home view ( Home on the menu, root view ) to display the tabs for the main project.
