Unable to get git repo to work

I know this has been asked many times before but none of the solutions are working for me. When I try to view the repo there is just the message :The entry or revision was not found in the repository. I have the path set to the local repo like: /home/serverz/redmine/github/project/ I also tried /home/serverz/redmine/github/project/.git
When I try to select users I get the message :
Select or update the Redmine user mapped to each username found in the repository log.
Users with the same Redmine and repository username or email are automatically mapped.
And below it just says No data to display.
Can anyone please help me troubleshoot this?
hmmm nevermind.. i have no idea what i did different but it works now. Hooray!
