GUI on website doesn't show or work

Hi,

On a VPS server I got redmine (1.2.1) up and running in a virtual domain. I cannot get the graphical user interface on the website to work. It's plain white with the old-fashioned links. I want to use Redmine for a production environment, so this is not really an option.

I have no clue where to start and couldn't find anything suitable with the search function. Can someone please help me find out how to solve this?
