Use of field 'status' and 'resolution' in the Redmine tracker

Added by gabriel scolan about 16 years ago

Hi,

In the Redmine tracking on Redmine, you've defined a field named 'Resolution', with multiple values: 'fixed', 'wont fix', 'dupplicate', 'invalid'.
How do you use it and why is it not "merged" with the field "status" ?

many thanks

gabriel

Until now, we used Status field only and we found that this is not practical.
We have status New, In progress, Implemented, Testing, Tested, Released, Closed

We have problem, that no every issue is found to be useful, so we set status to Closed and we need to know, WHY it was closed. So this is the field Resolution for. We set Won't fix, Invalid, Duplicate.
