Sending emails from a Redmine Plugin

Up to Redmine 1.4.x, emails could be sent from a Redmine plugin using templates and the render_multipart method.
Since Redmine 2.0.x, this does not work.

I have been searching for information on how emails can be sent from a plugin to no avail.
I have tried several ways referring to the source in mailer.rb, but cannot seem to overcome a template path error.

Can anyone present an example on how an email can be sent from a plugin since Redmine 2.0.x?

Even I am working on a mailing feature for a plugin and curious on how things will work for Redmine 2.0.x Help would be much appretiated.

Yep, same problem here. Trying to fix this error with the Wiki Extensions plugin but don't have any info on the correct approach.
