Hide subtasks in Gantt
Added by Leo L. about 10 years ago
Hello,
I have several projects in my Redmine.
Each project has main tasks and subtasks.
In Gantt, I didn't find a way to filter to show only main tasks, not subtasks (too many subtasks to print, the Gantt becomes confusing) : is there a way to do so ?
Regards,

I think if you filter your Issues list to only show what you want shown on the Gantt and then you click Gantt, then you will have the Gantt you want.

James, the trouble is that at the moment, we still can't filter the issues list using parent task values, as such we don't have a way to filter out subissues on the issues list, the gantt and the calendar (the three use the same set of filters) in any way.
A feature request for adding such a filter option is filed as #6118, which also has a neat and tiny patch attached in #6118#note-44 which adds such a query filter (tested it successfully on the issues list myself only yet, but I think it works on gantt and calendar too).
Regards,
Mischa.

or you can find a workaround by using custom fields or some other decent way to filter out instead of only relying on a parent/subtask filter to be available.

Thanks to both of you for your replies.
建 李: Workaround would have been a solution if Mischa didn't pointed out the patch !
Mischa The Evil: The patch did his job well, that's perfect.
See you !
