I find no (target|milestone|version) in new issue, edit issue, issue list, though versions and milestones are defined

Added by David Gessel over 9 years ago

I apologize, there has been a break in my redmining between an earlier version and redmine-2.5.2_1 on FreeBSD, which I've just installed (along with Advanced roadmap & milestones plugin 2.4.0).

This is probably trivial and I apologize, but I've searched the forums for "show version|milestone|target" and have found only bug requests to hide the target selector as issue reporters are, at least in some places, a little overzealous in their use.

It seems that the fix has been to hide that option so well I can't find it myself. I have defined milestones in the appropriate tab and versions as well, and linked milstones to versions. Yet, if I create an issue I have no option to target the issue. (I am operating as administrator and have defined a role that includes all permissions, including "manage milestones").

There's no variable to transfer to the Available (or selected) columns for target|milestone|version in the Administration-Settings-Issue tracking Pane.

If I select an existing issue, the issue pane shows "Milestones:" (and "Duration:") but Milestones isn't editable by either the top or the bottom edit tool. My list of Milestones does appear in the right pane under the "Issues" list and above "watchers."

I know I've just failed to find something obvious, but I have not found it. Any hints greatly appreciated.

Resolved.

I thought I had checked this, but the probability of user error is very high. The resolution for me was:

Administration -> Trackers -> (select one) -> (check) Standard Fields/Target Version

Thanks for following up!

I do have plugins, but they weren't the cause of this error. I was.

It might be helpful to check that at least one tracker has enabled "target version" if a target version is defined in the project and provide a reference to the Administration -> trackers page. I certainly won't forget again, but it took a bit of hunting around to find the required switch to make use of the defined version.
