Index of /redmine

So I went through This turorial: http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/HowTo_Install_Redmine_in_Ubuntu

I want to set redmine up to so that I have to navigate to mysite.com/redmine. but when I go there I just get a message saying Index of /redmine.

ruby --version: ruby 1.9.3p484

when I vi into "/etc/apache2/mods-available/passenger.conf" there is nothing in the file. the rest of the tutorial when I have to edit files they are all XML documents. should this one have XML tags?

"ln -s /usr/share/redmine/public myfoldername" this line confuses me. When I go to www/redmine should I see /public or am I symlinking this wrong?
