I solved my problem about email configuration with Redmine on Ubuntu server 16.04
Redmine notify that the email is not configured yet. Please go to /etc/redmine/(instance)/congiguration.yml to set up, then restart the app.
I checked on my Ubuntu server, there is not configuration.yml on /etc/redmine/default.
But I found configuration.yml in /user/share/redmine/config.
I updated this file:
default:
email_delivery:
elivery_method: :sendmail
I installed Postfix. During installation process, it asked me to enter smtp mail server. I enter: mail.xxxxxx.com (this is our mail server)
I created a symbol link
$ ln -s /user/share/redmine/config/configuration.yml /etc/redmine/default/configuration.yml
Finally, I restarted the app.
Then it worked. Hope this help.
