Redmine

We recently switched to Outlook 2016/Office 365 and are missing the automatically included plain text part of the email. We're now relying on the scrubbed version of the HTML email and are encountering some usability problems. I'm wondering if anyone has some ideas to help with these issues:

1) The HTML scrubbed emails are usually at least double spaced and some time triple spaced - requires manual fix up
2) Images are attached, but there is no place holder in the text to determine which image goes where (We're OK with manually fixing up the image references - not ideal but it's what we used to do)

I've searched for plugins, patches, etc to help fix this and haven't found anything yet.

The redmine_email_images plugin doesn't do anything that would help us I don't think?
