Problems with Redmine 0.8.4 with Passenger on Apache

Hi there,
i have a installation of Redmine running under Apache with Passenger...
from time to time it occurs that i get an error, cause the load of the system will run into spheres which i can't get..;-(

I'm using Redmine 0.8.4 (http://redmine.rubyforge.org/svn/branches/0.8-stable Revision:2755) Apache 2.2.11 and Passenger (2.2.2)...

Does someone has a good tip what i can enhance to prevent such crashes ?

Karl, what does the Apache error log say for that period, and are there any strange events in syslog? assuming this is a Linux server...
