Setup Redmine with VisualSVN on Windows

Added by Mike Bolser about 15 years ago

Hello all:

I am attempting to setup Redmine to work with VisualSVN on a Windows 2008 server. So far, I have Redmine working fine with Ruby, Mongrel and MySQL. The Redmine site works fine with this configuration so far, no issues ...

Now I am trying to get SVN connected with Redmine. However, I'm using VisualSVN which is a custom Apache server running on top of SVN. My installation of VisualSVN is working fine, I have create a base repository, admin user, and have the server running over HTTP, not HTTPS.

At this point, I've tried enabling the WS in the Redmine configuration but I have no idea where to tell it to find my repository. Further, I've tried to set the repository URL for my individual test project to the http://localhost:8080/svn/testproject without success.

Has anyone had success getting VisualSVN working with Redmine?

Thanks!

Mike

I have VisualSVN server and Redmine. They works fine together.
PS We don't use WS feature of Redmine, just linking individual projects to their repositories.

Thanks for the reply Andrew. I did get this working by manually linking individual projects to the VisualSVN repository path. Have you or anyone been able to get the auto creation of a repo working?

Hi
I am trying to get svn working with bitnami redmine stack. When I try and access the repository from within redmine - I get the following error. It seems that the path to my svn executable is being trashed as the back slashes have been skipped. If I run that command at a dos prompt, correctly typed with the missing back slashes - it will work as expected. I have tried moving it and setting a different path - but the changes to path are not updated and the error remains unchanged. Where do I define the path and how do I get the bitnami stack to take the new value. (Short of rebooting the server, which is not on!)

Many thanks

Andy
