Weekly Timesheet comments overwrite

Added by Sanjay jain almost 12 years ago

Hello Dhanasingh,

Your weekly timesheet plugin adds up the time for similar entries

- "If duplicate entries are made on a new timesheet, it will sum up the hours for those duplicate entries"

Unfortunately this does not allow comments to be preserved. For example, some one add a comment for time entered on Monday, edits the week and adds time on Tuesday, the Tuesday comment will overwrite Monday's comment.

Another example, let's say a developer adds time while updating tasks, makes a comment each time, then uses the weekly time adds some time to that task, all the comments get deleted.

Any suggestion on how we can continue to use comments and use your great plugin?

Sanjay,
thanks for your feedback.
this is already in our list, we will remove this feature and let the user enter duplicate entries.
We will try to put this in 1.0 release

Great!

Do you have an idea when 1.0 will be released?

may be in a month.
we are just about to release 0.9 which is compatible with redmine 2.0

I just noticed that the plugin allows users to edit their entries, even if the permissions do not allow editing.

Is this going to be addressed in the next release? And any idea when that will be?

Thanks for all your work on this.
Sanjay

yeah, the permission issue has been raised by few other users also.
We have fixed it in release 1.0.

What we are doing is:
the hours will be read-only in the timesheet if you don't have edit permissions
and likewise you can't delete a row or delete the whole timesheet if you don't
have edit permissions.

We are hoping to release 1.0 by next week. development is complete, we are testing it.

That's great - looking forward to the new release.

FYI - Win7/IE Users are reporting that the drop down box for activity does not expand to show the full text width of the activity.

1 more suggestion, please set the default for the date range to "this month". The number of entries for "all time" will get very large over time.

Thanks
Sanjay

On the dropdown issue, I think thats how IE behaves if we set the width of the dropdown. The size of the activity dropdown is set as style="width:75px" . But in Release 1.0, the width is configurable, hopefully that will solve the problem.

We will set the default date range to current month
