Plugin to automatically assign new users to groups?
Added by Oded Arbel over 7 years ago
Hi, I'm looking for something like the plugins discussed here: Is it possible to automatically add new users to a group ... , except that I need the new users to be assigned to different groups (instead of always a default group) depending on some criteria - e.g. a match on their email address.
Does anyone know such a plugin?
My use case is that I have a Redmine setup where I allow customers to open support tickets for me, where a customer is a company that may have multiple employees working with me. I have set up a group for each customer, where each group is assigned permissions according to what each customer is allowed to have access to.
I want to have a setup where if the company hires a new person, they just need to register with their company's email address and will get automatically assigned to the correct group - so I don't have to manually grant permissions and manage users for each customer.
BTW - if someone is willing to write such a plugin, I may be able to pay for that.

I cannot find the plugin you want.
But it's interesting idea!
I want to create it when I have time.

Sorry it took so long to reply, I'm not sure why I didn't get an email about your comment.
I've contacted you in private email to discuss roadmap and payment terms.
