I wish to introduce Redmine Blogs Plugin 0.0.3 version:
Features:

Does this plugin only runs under production environment?
I encounter an error when migrate:
uninitialized constant BlogsPlugin::ApplicationHelperGlobalPatch::TagsHelper
I'm using redmine last devel r2704

You can include the plugin inside of your own plugin. That's what I do in the Redmine Exception Handler plugin. Check it's init.rb and vendor/ directory for how to load the plugin.

Also, how was development with acts_as_taggable_on_steroids? I'm wanting to add tagging to issue but I'm not sure which tagging plugin would be best.

Eric, thank you for example, I know that this is possible but don't know how. I will check your code and implement it in next version.

Also, how was development with acts_as_taggable_on_steroids? I'm wanting to add tagging to issue but I'm not sure which tagging plugin would be best.

Development with acts_as_taggable_on_steroids was very easy, all things that you need to do are clearly described in its readme file, I have spent only few hours on this implementation.

Hi,

I work as a systems admin with basic knowledge of Rails. I had customized Redmine and using it for nearly an year. Recently we need to integrate our intranet/user blog site with Redmine and I find your plugin very much suits for this purpose. I have downloade the plugin version 0.0.4 from the above link and unzipped it. But no information on installing it. So I used the usual steps
1. ruby script/plugin install http://svn.viney.net.nz/things/rails/plugins/acts_as_taggable_on_steroids
2. copied the unzipped redmine_blosg directory to redmine/vendor/plugin
3.rake db:migrate_plugins --trace

I think the rake worked only in development mode since I got error on http://localhost:3000. So I started it in development mode then I got the error:

NoMethodError in Account#login

Anoop,

In 0.0.4 version of this plugin acts_as_taggable_on_steroids is included and you don't need to install it.
I don't see any error related to blogs plugin.
What version of Redmine you use? Try to remove redmine_blogs_plugin folder from vendor/plugins and restart Redmine.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I use Redmine 0.8.0.devel.2744 (PostgreSQL)
with postgres-pr db driver

By the time I had found that mistake and I installed the Redmine_blogs plugin, the plugin needed a developer database too, after doing that the rake command worked fine and I was able to start the application, then I am able to see "Blogs" on the Redmine page. But when I click on the blog I get the following error: =======================================================================================================================================================

I tried changing the db driver to postgres than postgres-pr and got the same error. Here is the error from the logs:

rake db:migrate_plugins RAILS_ENV=production.

Now the problem is I dont see any option to create a new blog "new blog" option shown on the screenshot.
Which version of Redmine you used for testing?

Photo on screenshot is just a user avatar, use Gravatar service functionality that included in Redmine core for it or install Local Avatars Plugin if you can't deal with Gravatar.

Photos and any other attachments are processed like in other places of Redmine (redcloth textile formatting). For example:

I think that there is something in your MySQL version, because with all my servers that I have done this migration all worked okay.
Just change description field of blogs table to type TEXT. I will change migrations in next version to avoid this.

from

As somebody mentioned, if MySQL is configured to strict mode, it will not allow default values for blob/text columns. So modifying the 002_fix_blogs_description_type.rb like this will correct this problem:

change_column(:blogs, :description, :text, :default => nil)

Hi,
I'm having a few problems (postgres 8.3, redmine 0.8.4, blogs plugin 0.4):
1. Tag Test post (as pictured above) doesn't show up on my newly-created blog.
2. When I click the "Blogs" button, the users are called "label_users_blogs".
3. It seems like the only way to see blogs is to click "Home", then click "Blogs" - i.e., there is no way to see the Blogs link when I work inside a project. Can this be changed so it appears together with Overview, Activity, Roadmap, etc?
