Add custom fields whose value depends on other fields

I need to define an issue's custom field whose value depends on other custom field values
there is a redmine issue on this http://www.redmine.org/issues/1712
anyone knows if this is going to be done?

When someone contributes a patch for it?

I don't even see a tagged target version, so unless someone contributes, not any time soon.
