Global Search takes me out of current project

Description
Recently the behaviour of the search field top right changed. Now if I enter a search string there and search I dont just search my current project but all projects - and from the all projects search results there is no easy way to narrow the search back down.
I am assuming this is a bug - I cant think it was changed as a feature?
Correction: Not just global search, even the search page. If I click the link to get to the search page and leave the selected project as the current one, when I search it gives me an unfiltered list of results from all projects. I cant find a way to search only current project.
My version: Redmine 1.3.0.devel.8638
PS: Why not include the version number in the copyright line at the foot of the page? Would help users (who may not have admin rights) report their version number when reporting issues...

Indeed. This behaviour was fixed in r9371 and 1.4 release.

The version was displayed in the very early versions of Redmine but was removed as requested in #794 for security reasons.
