Redmine

We are using both external and internal Redmine projects:

• internal projects are for our core code and visible to our developers and managers only,
• external projects contain customer-specific code and are visible to customers, managers and developers.

When a customer reports an issue and we decide to work on it in an internal project, we copy the issue (so that we can keep the customer updated on the progress). Issue references (depends on, blocks by, ...) are used keep a relation of the external and internal issue. This works great, but we have to update issues on the external projects manually whenever a related issue in an internal project is updated.

Could Redmine get a feature so that issues are updated automatically when their related issues are updated?
It could be something like a checkbox "Update related issues" in the update dialog. Alternatively, a checkbox like "Notify related issues" could be used to display updates to an issue as a comment in related issues .
