Redmine

In my team we are trying to move out from Gitlab to handle issues and use Redmine, however one very important part is the ability to make reference to the issues from the commits, however looks like this cannot be done if redmine and gitlab are installed in the same server.

I've been reading forums and issues here for a couple of hours now and I'm unable to solve the problem, but I think I have a good idea of what is happening now.

After doing the installation in the same server I have gitlab, I did try to make the relation of the project with the repo, without success. All the permissions are ok and the paths are correct, but the error keeps saying the directory is not a repository, which I know it is. However, I did one test. I made another installation of redmine in another server and did a mirror of the same repo in that new server... it worked without any problem.

Then I made another test: If I create a brand new repo as bare, and try to use it in the same server, it will not work.

So looks like the problem is only when creating bare repos in the same server. Otherwise it works ok. Do you have any idea how can I fix this?
