Description
It would be time-saving if Start Date was set to Today when creating a new issue. Especially useful when creating a large group of issues.
Another option would be to set the prefered behavior as a project settings or something like that

The feature has been available since a long time ago.
Go "Administration" > "Settings" > "Issue tracking" page and check the setting "Use current date as start date for new issues".
