It would be very helpful to have the estimated time (in hours) as an own field for each issue.

Advantages:

• supporting "load" calculation per team member (typical problem: too optimistic commits to features/multi-tasking)

• to compare against the spent time, for improving the effort estimation in the future and get better understanding
  about the team velocity

• statistical purposes: sum up all estimated hours of all finished features vs. spent time in the changelog/roadmap
  (for example)

Problems:

• display in the gantt chart, there could be a conflict between due-start date [assuming 8h/day?] vs. estimated time
