Cross project status reporting
Added by Matt Berney over 14 years ago
We are looking into using Redmine for tracking project status through the use of features and Versions (roadmap). It is a simple way to track completion of milestones on projects. Tastes great, less filling!
Anyway, we are tracking several projects simultaneously. It would be extraordinarily helpful to have a report that shows the project status "at-a-glance". Is this possible with Redmine?
What are all the active projects?
What percent complete is each project?
If I create specific "versions" or milestones for a project, (Requirements Complete, Dev Start, Dev Complete,QA Start, Release), can Redmine report on the status of these milestones across projects?
It is my impression using Redmine that it is good at tracking status of individual projects. But I need to track status of multiple projects at once.
Thanks in advance.

The Roadmap page should show the versions of subprojects, and (at least on trunk) you can share versions with portions or all of your project tree. Other than the Roadmap page showing subprojects, I'm not aware a really global overview, sorry.

Yes, you can share versions. However, as different projects will have different dates for each version, and the shared version only allows one single shared end date (as far as I know)... I'd say it won't work.
I'm interested in something similar but haven't found a sensible way of doing it so far.
The only shared version we have right now is "Backlog" which, by default, doesn't have end date.
