Hi Felix,
Thank you for the reply...
I have observed that the steps to upgrade remains the same in RedmineUpgrade for any version of Redmine
My redmine production version is 0.8.3 and have to be upgraded to 1.0.1
So, it is not required to upgrade from 0.8.3 to 0.9.x and then from 0.9.x to 1.0.1.
Is my understanding correct. Please confirm

Upgrading directly should work.

HI, on the similar lines, but a different situation here.
I am upgrading from 0.8.7 to 1.0.0
0.8.7 is on machine 1 and 1.0.0 is on machine 2
I understand on the same machine, upgrade process is quite easy.
But on a different machine how exactly to restore all your settings and tickets???
Since i have observed that in 1.0.0, there are some new tables as well as some old tables having new columns.
If i use sqldump, it creates drop and create scripts which will make me lose all the new columns.
Kindly help me on this at the earliest since i have a very small window. MY main problem/doubt is that how do i restore the enitre database keeping all the properties/columns and at the same time not delete any structural changes in new databases.

That is your problem, you should test and make sure you understand the process of doing something before agreeing to doing it.

Export the database from the old server, import the database to the new server, install redmine on the new server, configure the database file as needed, then run the migration as explained in the upgrade guide (this will upgrade your import of the old database to the new format). Follow the other/remaining steps as in the RedmineUpgrade.

Hi, Thanks for the information. I was succesfully able to migrate the database.
