Email fails after update

I get this message after upgrading to 1.0.3

Sending email notification to: xx.com, yy.com
The following error occured while sending email notification: "530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. w20sm6675782eeh.0
". Check your configuration in config/email.yml.
Redirected to http://project.xx.com:8080/issues/1141
Completed in 484ms (DB: 47) | 302 Found [http://xx.com/projects/emd/issues]

No changes have been made in email.yml ie. I used the old one. We are sending through Gmail

Any ideas?

Look up the mail configuration tutorial in the wiki, IIRC it has a gmail section, and make sure your email.yml matches (and I understand you haven't changed it, check it nonetheless).
