Redmine stolen.....?

Added by Carlos Miranda Molina about 13 years ago

Hi guys

Today in my daily procrastinate time i find this product on Google MarketPlace: http://www.taskpoint.com/demo

is clearly a copy of Redmine, but most worrying is the text "Patent Pending" at bottom.

we can do to force them to comply with the GPL2 license?

I think it's a good idea to expose with Google writing email to

taskpoint.PNG (72.9 KB) taskpoint.PNG taskpoint stolen redmine

I'll try to contact someone over at TaskPoint to see if they can shed some light on this matter. Though, let's wait with our bold conclusions until we have some response from them ;) Will be continued...

But this definitely needs some explanation.

Hi guys, two quick notes first under the terms of GPLv2 TaskPoint do not distribute copies of the Program as defined by GPLv2 in any shape of form, second GPLv2 does not have any restrictions whatsoever on what can be patented or what could not be. Said I can say that as an active member of the Redmine community (and ex(as team seems to be dormant as most of the members switched to chiliproject) UX team lead) I personally hope for the Redmine success. Additionally I would like to mention that subject matter of the provisional patent application we have filed does not have anything to do anything with the Redmine core in a shape or form it existed at the moment of filing, also I would like to mention that this provisional patent application is now abandoned and I actually thank you for mention of the sentence from the website as we definitely have remove "patent pending" mention from it (I will ask our guys to remove it sometime soon).
