Uninstalling Plugins
Added by Cory Riddell over 12 years ago
There are some plugins that look interesting to me, but I'm a bit paranoid about disrupting my Redmine install.
For example, Issue #4383 is a big pain point for us. One of the comments on that issue points to a plugin that may be a workaround. If I install a plugin, what are the dangers? Could I corrupt my Redmine install? How do I uninstall a plugin?

The tl;dr of that thread is that there's no general purpose way to uninstall a plugin. Migrating the plugin to version 0 should work until you upgrade to the next version of Redmine.
I think I'm going to avoid plugins for now.

After migrating to version 0 you delete the plugin from the vendor/plugins. So it will not install again when upgrade Redmine.

I was referring to Jean-Baptiste Barth's comment:
Complications appear when you install a plugin, upgrade redmine, then try to uninstall it, if the plugin is incompatible with core database migrations, such as subtasking plugin. But I think we'll never find a good solution for that.
