Upgrade 1.4.5 to 2.1.4 ?

Dear Redmine users,

I would like to know if some of you had experienced an upgrade from Redmine 1.4.5 to 2.1.4 ? I need to change OS version to have some dependencies up to date. But, how can i upgrade 1.4.5 from the old serveur (physical) to 2.1.4 on a virtual host ?

You have to install 2.1.4 on the virtual host, but without loading initial data in the database. You have to dump the old database and import it into new database. Then you have to make database migration. I think it is a good idea to move to ruby 1.9.3 because some day the support for 1.8.7 will cease. If your database is MySQL, you have to switch from mysql to mysql2 adapter. If you use plugins, you have to upgrade them. As a rule, the plugins have newer versions for Redmine 2.1.x.
