FreeNAS project migration from Trac to Redmine

Added by Craig Rodrigues about 11 years ago

I am a developer for the FreeNAS project ( http://www.freenas.org ).
Our project previously used Trac for our bug tracker.

Recently, we decided to migrate from Trac to Redmine. If you
click on:

http://support.freenas.org/

The "Open a Ticket" link will take you to our Redmine instance.
Redmine works great! Thank you to the Redmine developers for such a terrific piece of software.

A few notes:

  • The software is hosted on FreeBSD. I created a HOWTO for how to set up Redmine under FreeBSD using FreeBSD
    ports. It is extremely easy!
    See: FreeBSD Redmine HOWTO Post
  • I had to fix several bugs in the migrate_from_trac.rake script. I submitted tickets for these patches
    #14567
    #14590
    #14592
    #14593
It would be great if these could be incorporated back into Redmine,
since it would help a lot of people who want to switch from Trac to Redmine.
With those fixes, I was able to migrate about 3000 tickets from Trac to Redmine.

Hi Craig,

thank you for your information, it's always interesting to learn who's using Redmine!
I'll try to make sure your patches get attention.
