Can I set up forums for multiple projects in one place?

Added by Steve Fallows over 14 years ago

It appears to me that there is no central place to define forums. IOW, if I want all my projects to have a "Development Issues Discussion" forum, I must go to each project and set it up, correct?

If so, it would be a nice feature to add, as I suspect many users would use the same set of forums for each project.

I need the same thing. I actually spent the last 2 days trying to get a development environment set up to implement this feature - but I'm new to Ruby and it has been difficult trying to get the right packages on my CentOS so that I can develop. Right now I am unable to get the script/console working.

I've given up and plan to just provide a link from one Forum to the other...I know...LAME!

If anyone out there has a better idea (or can implement a quick plugin!), I'm all ears.

I would not mind including one forum on a new tab in another project in an iframe if I could include just the main forum content and not project frame and navigation. Anyone know how?

All modules in redmine are project-bound, and I don't think are or will be any plans to change that. I have created a project for "global stuff" such as the wiki or forums, what you could additionally do is add a link to said forums in the application menu (top left), that's not too hard to do from a plugin.
