Hide a role in the Members section

hi,

is there a way to hide a certain role (like Release manager) from the Members section on the start page of a project? We have a large Working group and there is only one person responsible for a subproject, so i'd like to have only one or two persons in the members section, but plenty more watching the project/topic.
