Howto truncate production.log file?
Added by Karim Trott about 14 years ago
I've been running my server since quite a while and the log file increased to several MB. What's the best way to truncate the production.log file and how to keep the system slim. (e.g I don't need 2 years old log entries)

furthermore: at which size the redmine performance will be impacted?

See RedmineInstall, redmine won't be impacted in any way by the size of the file, as it (or to be precise rails) just dumps stuff in it. If you choose the system logrotate, try googling for logrotate rails or something similar.

Thanx a lot Felix,
for the feedback, the trick worked (needed a while to rotate). Seems havn't looked into the RedmineInstall for a while...
