Issue Permissions

I would like to create a user for a client who can log in and create issues for their project. I can make that happen, but then I also want for them to be able to view the issues they create and the status of those issue while hiding our internal development issues from them. Is this possible?

Not with core, there are patches for that here on the tracker, but they are not "officially" sanctioned.
