restricting control of target version

Greetings,

I wanted to be able to restrict the target version field by role. Is that supported? I initially thought that the manage versions options in the roles/permissions would do that. But that is not the case.

Is there any way I can allow/prevent a specific group of users from being able to assign or remove a target version from a given issue?

It' s not, but check out #8050 request, that covers the feature.
