An error occurred while sending mail (getaddrinfo: nodename nor servname provided, or not known)
Hello,
Last week, my Redmine suddenly stopped sending notification emails.
When I send a testmail from Administration>Settings>Email Notifications I get this error:
Unfortunately I couldn't relate this back to a particular action on the server (updates, config changes etc)
After doing some googling the error seems to relate to a DNS problem but I'm stuck in solving this.
Thanks for any pointers.
- Redmine 1.2.1 (Bitnami stack)
- OSX server 10.8.6

Are you sure the hostname and path settings are correct?

Thanks Mischa!
I overlooked the "default configuration options for all environments" which still held all the example.com blabla config settings.
It was buried way down in the configuration.yml file and not outcommented.
Anyway, after entering the my configs everything was ok again.
