How to change the default modules name

Added by Murali Krishna about 11 years ago

Hi Guys,

I am newbie to REDMINE and I am still exploring the tool. So far so good.....

We would like to use the Redmine in tracking a list of applications. I configured most of everything, but I need to update the default name of the ISSUE module to something like Applications and also update the new issue with name of new applications. I don't think we need any additional plugin's for this feature. Can you please let me know, if we can obtain this functionality.
Regards,
Murali.

Try to change labels in config/locales/en.yml: label_issue, label_issue_new, label_issue_plural. You may need change more labels that produce "issue" word.

Hello Ivan,
I am also trying to rename the module. Like change Documents module to Compliance.

I am using Binami. I can't see the locales directory. It's a windows system though. Can you tell me how/where to change the name? Thanks!

locales folder is this path: your_redmine_root_folder\config\locales

Hello Ivan,

I found the file and it's in the path: C:\Bitnami\redmine-4.1.1-6\apps\redmine\htdocs\config\locales.
I change it to Compliance but it didn't work. I restart the Database and Apache web. I still see Documents in the webpage.

I also search and found all the other en.yml under locales folder. All the others are like "Hello World". Only the one I changed looks like the right one with Documents in the file. So I guess I find the right en.yml file.

Do you know why?

Sorry. My mistake. It's working. I am supposed to change this section:

label_document: Compliance
label_document_new: New Compliance
label_document_plural: Compliances
label_document_added: Compliance added

Thank you very much.
