Wiki pages' history does not let me "annotate" a version
Added by Friederike Jolk almost 6 years ago
I always thought "annotate" means something like "write a note". Anyway, this is what I expect when clicking on "annotate": a way to enter a comment for a certain version of a wiki page.
But it seems as if "annotate" rather means something like "show who changed which lines in which version".
Am I wrong or could there be a better word than "annotate" - e.g. "annotations" or "authors"? At least shouldn't it be something more like "here you get some more informations" than "here you can actually do something"?
And is there a way to enter a comment for an existing version of a wiki page? - Not that this is an "important" feature, just something I sometimes could really use.

There isn't a possibility to change the comment text of a wiki revision, by now. There already is an open feature request (#11519) so your not alone. Maybe you would like to give it a +1 to raise its importance a bit. :-)
I also agree that the term "annotate" can be quite misleading at this point and we should raise an issue for it. As I think about it, "annotations" would be my favorite choice.
