Link an image (logo) from another page without having to insert the image again and again.

Added by Alexander Berszinski almost 4 years ago

In order to save storage space and to minimize the workload, I would like to upload all images to the "Wiki project main page". Since every wiki project subpage should contain the same company logo, I would like to link this from the main page.
I've already tried

!file:https://Pfad/image.png!
!subpage/image.png

but it doesn't work. Unfortunately we can only use textiles as a basis on Wiki. Markdown is not installed and also not allowed. Anyone an idea?
Thanks for your time.

Hi Alexander,

as it's more accessible to people from allover the world I reduce my answer to English only.
My suggestion would be to create a separate wiki page with your logo image and name it 'incl_logo' for example.
Now you can include this wiki content in whatever wiki page you would like to have your logo inserted by using the 'include' macro.
It should be installed out of the box on most versions of Redmine. Here's the wiki article: RedmineTextFormattingTextile
BTW, this is also very useful for headers and footers. ;-)

Kind regards,

Bernhard

Thank you, I already own the site, but it just doesn't work.

I don't know if you've got my intention. So for the case you haven't got me right, here are the steps.

  1. Create a wikipage 'logo_inc' and add your image to it so that you can see it on this page.
  2. Go to the wiki page where you want to include your image and insert !{{include(logo_inc)}} where you need your logo to show up.

That's the easiest way you can solve this problem. Another way would be to add the image somewhere on your server, where the image is accessible by a proper URL. For example in a custom theme.

Thank you for your effort,
I was about to give up when I realized what your idea was.

It worked. Thanks again
