Is "updated_on" field in issues updated when journals are added?

Hi,
since in this page (https://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/wiki/Rest_Issues) is not explained, I was wondering if the field "updated_on" of "Issues" is updated also when someone adds a new Journals (for example, if the status of the issue changes)
