Change IP of redmine server

Added by Diego Sesar over 2 years ago

Hi.

We have an active Redmine server and we need to move to another IP. We change IP in server and in our DNS server and we can access to the server with the new IP, but Redmine is not working.

We have Ubuntu 2020 server and the last redmine version. Is there any command to apply to Ruby/Gems to tell Redmine "ey, this is still localhost but with another IP, wake up". All the other services are ok, is only Redmine who doesn´t works.

PD: we work with localhost, we use it as an internal tool, so we use an alias and is not a network problem.

Thanks.

Hi, the informations you give are incongruent. If you access REdmine with localhost means that you are not accessing from outside so server ip address change means nothing to web server.
You should clear this thing and then eventually take action on the Apache virtual host (If is apache the web server!).

Thanks
Lorenzo

Sorry, i didn´t explain it ok.

I tried to said that we work with it in a company, so it's a local IP (to discard network problems).

So, let's say old IP is 172.172.10.10 and now is 172.172.10.20. We can reach the server (with the new IP and the old alias) and work with another tools without problem. BUT, redmine is not up. So my cuestion is if we need to execute any command.

Thanks and sorry.

Nevermind, was our mistake in the Apache module.

Close/delete it and sorry.
