Redmine as Documentation

Added by Stefan Plankl almost 2 years ago

Hi

I am new here on the Forum and still got a question.
I used Redmine in my old company as a documetation managing.

So I installed yesterday Redmine on Ubuntu with Version 4.1.1 (yeah, I know it´s an old one) and everything works fine.

But it looks like a ticket-system?
Which plugin does I need to can use it for dokumentation?

I looked around all the plugins yesterday but I didn´t find it.

So maybe anyone here can give me a link or an idea for help.

Thx for all

Hi Stefan,

If you would like to manage your documentation via wiki then you need to enable the wiki module in the respective project. This is possible without any plugin.

If you didn't look for a wiki then please explain a little bit more what kind of documentation do you like to do.

Best Regards,

Liane

Hi Liane,

sorry for late reply but I just checked it now.

I Have seen it is via wiki and there is only one plugin installed.

You said I have to enable the wiki module in the respective project. What do you mean exactly with this?

Best regards and a nice weekend

Stefan

Hi Stefan,

You can enable several module in a project when you are logged in as admin or other user with the respective permission. For doing so, you need to navigate to the projects configuration menu item. After clicking that item scroll down the page to the box labeled 'modules'. In that box you will find the wiki module. Check the box und you are done!

Hi Liane,

thx for your help I already found it.
Now I got another problem and maybe you habe the answer for it.
I have seen that a plugin called ckeditor was installed at my old company for handling the wiki via source code.
I tried to install it but it looks like i am too stupid for it.
When i use bundle install --without development test i got the error that my ruby is 2.7.0 and my gemfile is 2.3.0
I tried to update it and also tried to edit the gemfile. Nothing helps.
Any ideas ?

Ok I find it

Best regards
Stefan

Hi,
i don't know such Error Codes from Redmine.

But I would like to tell you one very important tip about using the CK editor to create HTML. All content is then saved completely as HTML code. If you want to return to the Textile Code at a later point in time, this is not possible because then all the old content will no longer be displayed correctly!
So if you don't need the full range of services, this editor with textile translation would be a very good alternative.
