Dependencies between tickets
Added by Serbulent Unsal over 15 years ago
Hi,
Defining dependencies between tickets ( you can read it as tasks ) is very useful for project managment.
Is it possible to define dependencies between tickets in redmine or do I need to open a new issue for this feature ?

First place to look for such a question: the FAQ ;-)
Greetings,

Mischa,
Could you please point to me where/how can access the "related issues" option when I create a new issue?
I looked at the wiki, but it didnt help me. :(
THanks in advance!

Akhil,
You can't add related issues while you are creating a new issue.
Once you create an issue, then you can relate it with other issues.
Note: make sure "Roles-> Permissions-> Issue tracking-> Manage issue relations" is checked for your role.

Nanda

Nanda, Akhil,
To complete the infos in this thread: there is an outdated patch available (patch #987) which makes it possible to relate issues immediately when they are created. I'm still using it on my outdated, heavily patched and personal Redmine instance... ;)
Kind regards,
Mischa.
