Git patches welcome ?
Added by Jean-Baptiste Barth over 14 years ago
Hello,
Are git patches welcome here, or do you really prefer svn patches ? I switched to a new job recently and git is much more easy to use in the train without network connection. and I now have hours to kill each day...
If not, does anyone know a tool to convert patches or make development with the 2 systems easier ?
Thank you

Best way to work with git: fork edavis10s repo on github, then you can either send him pull requests, or post the patches here (git patches aren't (that much) different from svn patches). For more info, contact edavis10 on #redmine, he is one of the lead devs and works with git (maybe even exclusively), so he will be able to help.

Pull requests on github exclude other devs from applying patches (don't know if Jean-Philippe has a github account nor if he wants to rely on github for that). Plus it may be interesting to keep a trace of every patches + explanations here, no ?

Good points too :-) (and no, JPLang doesn't use github, or git for that matter).

Git patches are welcome (like Felix said, they are the same as svn patches). Just make sure to export them and upload them here so everyone can review the patch. If you fork my repo, then I can also pull in your patches easily once they have been reviewed.
