Assign issue to a group in redmine 1.2.0

I was trying to assign an issue to a group, for that i tried to use 2964.patch from Feature #2964. But it does not support to redmine 1.2.0
Can anybody please help me?

You'd better wait for Redmine 1.3.0 which will include the implementation for issue #2964. The patch you mention is most-likely outdated, incompatible with current Redmine sources and not supported in any way.
