Feature #30117
openConditional fixing keywords
0%
Description
Currently redmine has such fixing keywords as fixes
to change issue status.
However it changes issue status regardless of its current status.
It would be nice to have conditional keywords, which change issue status considering its current status. Like FSM.
E.g. refs #1234
for ticket with status "new" changes its status to "in progress", but for ticket with status "resolved" it does not change its status.
P.S. I've asked this on forum, but haven't received any reply in 2 months:(

I'm pretty sure that it already does this. It depends on the tracker workflow settings. If your tracker allows New to change to In Progress, but doesn't allow Resolved to change to In Progress, then you'll get what you want.

The current model of fixing keywords ignores current status. Yes, you can limit workflow state transition, but this wouldn't solve all cases.
For example, it can be permitted by the workflow to change "Resolved" to "In Progress" in case of changed requirements but that doesn't mean all changes related to the issue would transfer its status to "In progress".
One can also say that it can be done with a plethora of fixing keywords (e.g. inprogress #1234
to change ticket status to "In progress", resolves #1234
to change status to "Resolved", etc). However, this workaround requires remembering all of them and knowing the current status of a ticket, meaning that it's easier to change the status manually from web UI.
