It's a really simple pluggin that make a visual association between projects name and a background color.

Installation notes

Just clone the repository into plugin directory in your redmine. If you donwload the compressed release, change the name of the directory from project_colors.git to project_colors

I adapted your css so it is a bit less overloaded on a theme which has a white background:
