The plugin implements a convenient functionality of monitoring changes in issues.

Features:
  • You will always be able to see a number of issues assigned to you, number of new issues and number of changed issues throught the indicators in the top menu.
  • In any issue list you will see indicators which inform you that the task was not read by you or changed since the last view.

How does informing work in the «Unread Issues» plugin

  • Plugin removes useless menu-item «Home» in main menu and replaces it with the link «My issues» with three indicators, the following values:
  1. Shows the number of issues, according to query, selected in plugin settings (the most logically is to count issues, assigned to you).
  2. Shows the number of new issues, according to selected query, that you have not viewed yet.
  3. Shows the number of issues, according to selected query, which had changes since your last view.

  • In the list of issues, before the title of the issue, appears colored indicators that show the current status of the issue. A green circle - if the issue is new and you have not viewed it yet. A blue circle - if the issue had any changes since your last view.

don't work on 3.4.3 :
Query::StatementInvalid: PG::SyntaxError: ERROR: syntax error at or near "." on custom_value
As Unread_issues, Redmine_extra_query , custom_menu due to a_common_lib

Great idea, but getting rid of the "Home" menu item should be an optional thing, not a forced standard of this plugin.
Could not use with our system due to performance issues resulting from this plugin. Will do some hardware considerations and check.

The idea looks great but I cannot install it in version 3.0.2. Will it be soon available for the new version?

The plugin was pretty confusing (as I got it in zip) and I had to adopt it a bit. But after some fixes it works great. (Redmine 2.5.x, with a default theme, the recommended theme breaks some other plugins used by us)

Issues number does not increment when assigned to a group and you are inside the group. Hope it gets to redmine 3.0!
